WORK-STUDY OPPORTUNITIES AT THE ELDERS GATHERING

Work-study is an opportunity to engage with the teachings and the Elders’ gathering at a higher level. Work-study is both offering and learning: you experience the teachings in your body and your spirit, you work them with your hands, you sweat their wisdom from your pores.

Work-study is a far higher level of commitment to the Elders’ gathering than simply attending and listening. Work-study is at its core about serving the Elders and nourishing the tradition they offer to share. It is a pulse of reciprocity, a seed of reconciliation, a dream of reversing the injustices done to Native people through the centuries.

By choosing to apply for work-study, you offer to embody that seed of reversal, and become the instrument of reconciliation, dance the dance of service. For this reason it is good to consider carefully before applying for work-study. Please read through the explanations. Then sit in meditation, and consider whether this level of offering is for you.

Full-time work study (6 hours/day) entitles participants to a full discount off the $155 3-day registration, and meals. Part-time work study (3 hours/day) offers a 50% discount.  Payment due is $77.50.
