Green Mountain Band

We are Cherokees and Cherokees descendants

who were guided by my grandparents,

to move to the upper watershed of the Appalachian mountains,

to offer prayers and infuse the water with thoughts of appreciation.

We are a formal band adhering to Cherokee clan law

We maintain the ceremonial cycle.

 Mission Statement

The mission of the Green Mountain Band is to maintain the Cherokee Ceremonial cycle, to continually educate the young Cherokees in the philosophy and culture of the Cherokee tradition and to offer scholarships to support the development of skills necessary for joy and success.

The energy of the loving heart,
The energy of the generous heart,
Attracts into its field what is good.

Upon awaking commitment,
Living in a sacred manner,
We attract to ourselves the understanding and teachings
That help us realize our gifts to benefit all.
