The Sunray Peace Village is located at the base of Odali Utugi, Hope Mountain. The land is held in trust, preserving the ceremonial site for present and future generations. Donations are gratefully accepted to support the Peace Village. Please visit the Sunray Peace Village Blog for more information.
The Peace Village land has been consecrated as a sanctuary for spiritual renewal and planetary healing. It was inspired by the traditional Tsalagi (Cherokee) Peace Villages, places of healing and sanctuary, where communities of holy people and their extended families lived in a ceremonial way. They caused no harm, shed no blood, and practiced “Mindfulness.”
To be Mindful is to be aware that our thoughts, words, and actions shape our reality. We accept the past and our responsibility to the future empowered with the understanding that we can skillfully transform the appearances of dissonance.
The Peace Village communities of the past lived their lives by the ceremonial calendar with regular meditations, prayer and ceremonial dancing. Their continuous prayers of appreciation were said to harmonize the appearance of dissonance.
“ Through the sacred fire in my heart I am never apart from the Peace Village, homefires of the Ywahoo way.”
