This feature length documentary is a wake up call delivered by Indigenous Elders from throughout the Americas about the need for deep reflection and radical change in our relationship with the environment and each other. The documentary provides a rare opportunity to witness Native Elders from North, Central, and South America, exploring how to walk the way of peace and sustainability in a world overrun with paths to war and environmental devastation.
At the 23rd Native American Elders Gathering hosted by Ven. Dhyani Ywahoo, Chief of the Green Mountain Ani Yun Wiwa (Cherokee), people of many nations return to the Sacred Arbor in the Peace Village, based on the traditional Cherokee peace villages of old. There, they listen and learn from Native Elders who speak out about ancient teachings and prophesies, that help prepare for the years to come.
“The Peace Village” documentary will ensure that the living legacy of ancient wisdom from the Peace Village Elders can be an important vital force to awaken today’s world now, and for generations to come.
PRODUCTION UPDATE
Currently Mutual Abundance Media is producing a four part one hour documentary series entitled “Wisdom of the Elders”. Our initial documentary “The Peace Village” has completed its first phase of production, shooting from July 25th, 2007 through July 31st, 2007, at the Sunray Peace Village in Lincoln Vermont, documenting the 23rd Annual Native American Elders Gathering. From this extraordinarily rich footage, we have produced a promotional DVD to magnetize support and funds needed to complete the film. Our next phase of production includes visiting Elders in their own communities and documenting their service work, as well as conducting interviews with select Elders featured in the documentary.
